Lillian M. Doran

Lillian M. (Holland) Doran, formerly of Fall River, age 95, passed away peacefully Monday, November 21, 2022 in Fishersville, VA., following a very brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Doran.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Edward F. and Edna M. (Seymour) Holland. She resided in the city for ninety-one years prior to relocating with family to Virginia. A long time communicant of Holy Name Church, she was a former member of the Woman’s Guild and the Sacred Heart Linden Club. Lillian loved spending time with her family, her fondest memories were of summers spent at Baker’s Beach Club with her sisters, friends, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, escaping the New England winters to the warmer climates of Florida, Hawaii, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

She is survived by one son, William K. Doran and his wife Maryann; one daughter, Joan M. Malloy; daughter-in-law Rebecca Doran; eight grandchildren, Diane M. Perretta Cook (Aaron), Joseph J. Doran, Elizabeth M. Rank (Thomas), Brendan M. Rogers, Kevin J. Cheney, Meghan K. Malloy, Ryan P. Doran (Kerry) and Courtney J. Doran (Mike Weaver); ten great-grandchildren, Lillian, Evan and Maci Rank, Jordan and Aubrey Birchell, Callie and Kenzie Weaver, Anthony Cook, Ariel and Mason Doran, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Michael J. Doran and sister of the late Kathleen P. Modlowski, Edna M. Simcock, Teresa F. Nye, and Edward F. Holland.

Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00-7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
