Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (LaBonte) Grant, she was a life-long resident of the area.
Mrs. Buchanan worked at American Dryer as a Filing Clerk and a Housekeeper for several years before retiring. She enjoyed playing bingo and cooking for family and friends. She was well known for the delicious Salmon Pie she made.
In addition to her husband survivors include: her six children, Ida-May Pierce and her fiancé Stan Sawicki, James Michael Buchanan and his wife Gerry, Donna Lynn Pacheco and her husband Danny, Margaret Ann Flynn and her husband Frank, Daniel Lindsey Buchanan and his wife Laura and Irene Marie Rodrigues and her husband Wayne; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madeline Costa and Barbara Ferron; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Loretta Grant, William P. Grant, Robert Grant, Roland Grant and Dorothy Jankowski.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Visiting hours 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial private.
