Born in Fall River a daughter of the late George J. and Lillian M. (Lord) Kennedy she was a lifelong resident of the city, wintering for many years with Dale in Ft. Myers Beach.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1941, she worked for Employment Security, conducting interviews for 28 years before retiring in 1995. A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church she was a member of their Women’s Guild and an active participant in Senior Center activities.
She is survived by one son, Dale F. Tommer, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Fall River; two daughters, Karen Tommer and her partner Patricia Cortes of Cotuit and Mary Beth Tommer-Freitas and her husband Joseph Oliveira of Diamond Point, NY; two granddaughters, Kristen Correia and Melissa Ciosek; two great-grandchildren, Cora Lynn Correia and Myka Ciosek and her dear friend, Donna Tommer. She was the sister of the late George and William Kennedy.
Her funeral will take place Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 9:00am from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main St., Fall River. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River.
