Christopher M. “Chris” Schnurr, age 46, of Fall River died Friday, November 11, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Catherine W. (Wilcox) Schnurr to whom he had been married for the past 16 years.
Born in Louisville, KY, son of Dennis W. Schnurr of Macon, GA and Jerrie A. (Stephenson) Surface of Louisville, KY and step son of Betty Schnurr. He was a graduate of Dupont Manual High School in Kentucky and UMass Dartmouth.
He had been employed as a teacher at Coyle and Cassidy High School in Taunton and was a substitute teacher in the Fall River School system. He also delivered pizza for Carmela’s Pizza in Portsmouth RI, and delivered the Newport Daily News.
Chris was an avid Patriots fan and a season ticket holder.
He was a communicant of Holy Name Church and a US Navy Veteran.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are three children; Jack M., Benjamin W. and Abigail E. Schnurr all of Fall River; five brothers; Anthony W. Schnurr, David McDowell, Lee M. Cooper and James E. Cooper all of Louisville, KY and Dennis Schnurr of Warner Robbins, GA and a sister; Paula Schnurr of Macon, GA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10AM in St. Bernard Church 30 So. Main St. Assonet. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:15PM. Visiting hours will be on Wed. from 5-8PM in St. Bernard Church, with a wake service at 7:00PM.
