Ruben Hinojosa entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 92. He was born on July 22, 1926 to Rosendo Hinojosa and Amelia Villarreal Hinojosa in Falfurrias, Texas. Ruben proudly served as a Private First Class in the United States Army during World War II. He later dedicated many years working as a postal worker in Falfurrias until his retirement.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alicia T. Hinojosa.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two daughters, Dora “Dodie” (Oscar, Jr.) Navarro of San Antonio, Texas and Sylvia N. Hinojosa of Falfurrias; brother, Robert Roel Hinojosa of Corpus Christi, Texas; two grandsons, Jason (Audri) Navarro and Jeremy Navarro and two great-grandchildren, James Ryan Navarro and Adalynn Grace Navarro all of San Antonio, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Joe Larry Hinojosa, Johnathan Hinojosa, Colin Ward, Jeff Lambert, Ysidro Gonzalez and Ralph Guerrero, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer Martin Cuellar.
Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias with services concluding at the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Military Honors.
