Rosario "Rosie" V. Garza

Rosario “Rosie” V. Garza entered in to eternal rest on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 5, 1954 to Heriberto Lee Villa, Sr. and Estephana Villarreal Villa in Falfurrias. She dedicated 67 years of her life to being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and much more. Before becoming ill, she worked for over 6 years with Chartwells School Dining Services at Brooks County ISD.

Rosie always had a soft spot in her heart for helping others. She was a selfless, generous, loving and kind woman. Known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Gigi” she was adored by them. She was a phenomenal grandmother and an even greater great-grandmother, always attending any sporting event or birthday party they had. She was an avid 49ers fan and truly enjoyed being around her family and friends at gatherings. She loved going out and you would usually see her in a supportive Jersey shirt and two braids.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Robert Ruiz and Adan “Donnie” Lopez; brother, Mario (Norma) Lamar Villa and sister, Minerva Correa; brothers-in-law, Joe Garcia, Pedro Soliz, Donato Longoria and Eloy Moreno.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Reynaldo Garza of Falfurrias; sons Juan Jesus Ruiz, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas and Samuel (Linzey) Guajardo of Falfurrias; daughters, Joann (Hector) Arellano of Falfurrias, Patty Lopez and Richard Patton, Sr. of Premont, Texas and Kapri Garza (Juan Quintanilla, Jr.) of Falfurrias; brother, Lee Villa, Jr. of Falfurrias; nine sisters, Gloria Longoria of Chicago, Grace Garcia of Falfurrias, Linda Moreno of Mission, Texas, Braulia Barrera of Falfurrias, Estella (Henry Alvarez) Garza of Kingsville, Texas, Cindy (Armando) Calderon, Margie Calderon, Dolores Soliz and Azalia (Albino) Garcia all of Falfurrias; best friend whom she considered a sister, Yvonne (Ruben) Cantu, Sr. of Falfurrias; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren with three on the way and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
