Rolando “Chon” C. Garcia entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 65. He was born on August 6, 1955 to Bernardo G. Garcia and Angelita Carbajal Garcia in Bay City, Texas. Chon worked as a Cafeteria Employee with Brooks County ISD for over 4 years, with Strickland’s is Restaurant as a Kitchen Helper for over 15 years and catered for celebrations as well. He was an amazing cook and loved to dance. He was known for hosting a large New Year’s Eve party with the best Menudo, and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
Chon is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Humberto Garcia and sister, Sylvia C. Garcia.
He is survived two brothers, Bernardo (JoAnn) Garcia, Jr. of Washington and Luis (Dolores) Garcia of Falfurrias; sister, Brunilda (Shimitre Williams) Garcia of Missouri City, Texas; six nieces and nephews, Luis Javier (Annaliza Morin) Garcia, Sr., Yvonne (Luis Daniel) DeLaGarza, Veronica Gonzales, Lorena (Casimiro Beltran) Guerrero, Hector Guerrero, Jr. and Crystal Guerrero; 12 great-nieces and nephews, Marina Y. Garcia, Luis J. Garcia, Jr., Cedric D. DeLaGarza, Leandra E. Cruz, Tommy Joe Gonzales, Kristi A. Cruz, Natalia V. Cruz, Julian A. Hernandez, Abygayle M. DeLaGarza, Daniella D. DeLaGarza, Raelynn F. DeLaGarza and Derrick J. Guerrero and one great-great-niece, Rylie R. Garcia.
Rosary will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Services will conclude with Burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
