Olivia R. Canales, 74, of Hebbronville, TX went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on February 24, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Olivia was a Eucharistic minister. She was the president of the Guadalupana society, president of the Inmaculada society, a member of Orden Franciscana Seular. She was a member of the adult choir, a Crusieista, a member of the chamber of commerce and ARRP.
She was married to the love of her life, Lupe Canales. She was a devoted wife, mother, wela, pipa, sister, & friend who always put others before herself. Olivia had the most generous, caring heart and touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Olivia especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Olivia Canales is preceded in death by her parents, Viviano and Guadalupe Rodriguez, her sister, Olga R. Garza and son in law, David A. Garza. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Lupe Canales, daughter Olympia C. Sciaraffa (Jorge Fuentes), son A.V. (Megan) Canales, grandchildren Brenda (Rome) Garza, Trey Sciaraffa, Jon Avy Canales, Ryan Sciaraffa, Avianna Canales, Ava Canales, & Avan Canales, great grandchildren Leia Olivia, Jaxon Luke and Brooklyn Grace Garza. Sister Oralia (Robert) Garza and sister in laws, Olivia (Homero) Espinoza & Norma (Hector) Moncivais.
Olivia will be remembered for her radiant smile, warm personality and giving spirit. She was deeply loved & will be greatly missed by her family & friends.
Pallbearers will be John Avy Canales, Ryan Sciaraffa, Trey Sciaraffa, J.A. Garza, Henry Escamilla, Rome Garza, Hector Moncivais, Jr., Luis Arturo Moncivais and O.J. Espinoza. Honorary Pallbearers will be Avan Canales, George Fuentes, Robert Garza, Hector Moncivais and Homero Espinoza.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
