Michael “Mike” Wayne Odom, 67, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at his home in Falfurrias, Texas after a long battle with cancer and complications from a stroke. At the time of his death, Mike, was surrounded by his wife, Julie and son, Justin. He was born on August 14, 1954 to Joe Weldon Odom and Texie B. Overby Odom in Beeville, Texas. Mike was retired from the oil field industry after countless years of dedication. He was a giving man who cared deeply for people and was very outspoken, especially for people in need.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe W. Odom; brother, Kelly John Odom and daughter, Brandie Irene Odom.
Mike is survived by his wife of 44 years, Julia “Julie” Martinez Odom of Falfurrias; son, Justin Lee Odom of Falfurrias; daughter, Michelle Barrera of Premont, Texas; mother, Texie B. Odom of Kingsville, Texas; sisters, Kay (Alan) West of Kingsville and Teresa (Rolando) Garcia of Premont; two grandchildren, Jordynn Barrera and Caleb Lopez and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
At Mike’s request, no services will be held.
