Maria “Tencha” Hortencia Falcon Garza entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at a nursing home in Weslaco, Texas at the age of 87. She was born on August 28, 1933 to Ramon Falcon, Sr. and Maria Rodriguez Falcon in Jim Hogg County, Texas. Tencha worked as an Assistant Manager for the doctor’s offices of Dr. Luis Aranjo of McAllen, Texas and Mission, Texas and Dr. Faust of McAllen. She was also a Secretary for Casa De Amigos #2 housing department and she worked at the Foley's Department Store. Tencha was very caring.
She was always ready and willing to share whatever medical advice she could with anyone who would look for her for guidance. She was very sharp-minded and had beautiful cursive handwriting. Tencha was honored to be part of the unveiling of the Friendship Monument on Ocean Drive in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was also a descendant of Captain Blas De La Garza Falcon, the South Texas Spanish Colonizer of 1762 and the second oldest from the Gomez generation of El Colorado Ranch in Guerra, Texas.
Maria was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; husbands, Ernesto Juan Garza, Sr., Jimmy Clark and Ramiro Garza; sons, Ernesto Juan Garza, Jr. and Ruben Garza and her brother, Ramon Falcon, Jr.
Tencha is survived by her sons, Carlos Ramon (Suzanne) Garza of Premont, Texas and Noel “El Conejo” (Christina) Garza of Hebbronville, Texas; daughter, Rosa Maria Esparza of Edinburg, Texas; brothers, Manuel Antonio ( Thelma) Falcon of Corpus Christi and Roel (Emma) Falcon of Rios, Texas; sisters, Rosario (James) Sides of San Antonio, Texas, Blanca Falcon of Mission and Sylvia Farias of Hebbronville; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Alvarado, Christopher Garza, Omar Garza, Jaime Garza, Justin Alvarado and Jessica Garza.
Gratitude is expressed to Rosa Isela Elizondo for dedicating 16 years to Tencha as her caregiver. Your devotion, dedication and patience never went unnoticed, and we will always appreciate you.
Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Services will conclude with Burial at El Colorado Ranch Cemetery at 1400 FM 649 S. in Guerra, Texas.
