Emmy M. Benavides

Emmy M. Benavides passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at a hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 84. She was born on October 9, 1930 to Ignacio Morales and Genoveva Garcia Morales. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Emmy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Valdemar Benavides; son, Baldemar “Sonny” Benavides; and her siblings, Eva M. Garcia, Elsa M. Lopez, Santiago Morales, Cecilia Longoria and Manuel Morales. She is survived by her son, Jaime Saul (Nora) Benavides of Hebbronville, Texas; two daughters, Patricia B. (Robert) Rangel of Freer, Texas and Sonya B. (Tony) Vira of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Eduardo G. Morales of Falfurrias, Texas and Joel G. (Gloria) Morales of Premont, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Benavides, Jaime Benavides, Jr., Allan Michael Rangel, Christopher Benavides, Samuel M. Garcia, Mauricio M. Lopez, Joel Morales, Jr. and David Morales, Jr.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Hebbronville.

Interment will follow at New Hebbronville Cemetery.
