Celia Ruiz Carrasco

Celia Ruiz Carrasco entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 3, 2020 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 83. She was born on March 30, 1936 to Manuel Ruiz and Manuela Vargas Ruiz in La Copita, Texas. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Celia also took great pleasure in being a Seamstress for many community members. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she valued taking care of them. Coffee and pan dulce were her daily treat and she will always be remembered for her caring nature.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Silvestre Carrasco, Sr. and her daughter, Edna Carrasco Vela.

She is survived by her five sons, Eduardo (Ingrid) Carrasco of Corpus Christi, Silvestre (Nina) Carrasco, Jr. of Alice, Texas, Noe (Paula) Carrasco of Houston, Texas, Mauricio (Salli Naranjo) Carrasco of Harlingen, Texas and Sam (Jenifer) Carrasco of Ben Bolt, Texas; daughter, Sylvia (Porfirio) Mendez of Kingsville, Texas; brother, Ruben Ruiz; sisters, Refugia (Roberto) Marshall, Lile Tamez and Lina Garcia; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
