Shirley Kathleen Schmieder

Shirley was born April 9, 1930 in Belleville, IL to Christopher and Mildred (Canty) Fisher. They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death, her husband, Hugo Schmieder; her step-father, Herbert Neuner; and special companion, Al Reinhardt.

Shirley is survived by her loving family, including her two children, Gene (Kathy) Schmieder of Maryville, IL and Peggy (Tom) Eversmann of Collinsville, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Lauren) Schmieder of Glen Carbon, IL and their son, Nolan Schmieder, Nick (Corinne) Eversmann of Collinsville, IL, and their daughters, Julia and Madeline Eversmann, and Ben (Sarah) Eversmann of Maryville, IL and their children, Quinn Eversmann and Noah Eversmann and Thomas (Kate) Eversmann of St. Louis MO; many nieces, nephews; and Al Reinhardt’s loving family who was very dear to Shirley for many years.

Shirley spent her life devoted to her family, working as a homemaker. She and Hugo enjoyed traveling, making wonderful memories together. In later years, she and Al enjoyed dancing whenever they had a chance.

Above all else, Shirley loved her family dearly, especially her beloved grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be made to Partners for Pets or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research.

A visitation for Shirley will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

A funeral service will follow the visitation, at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Final interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
