Russell Wayne Anderson

Russell was born February 17, 1947 in Granite City, IL to Robert and Fannie (Cavashire) Anderson. They preceded him in death.

Russell married his high school sweetheart, Linda Scheppelman on August 21, 1965. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2015. Also preceding him in death was his grandson, Joseph Lee Brown; brother, Robert Anderson; and sister, Carol “Lana” French.

Russell is survived by his loving children; Michael (Alison) Anderson of Swansea, IL; Michele (Tim Descher) Halter of Cahokia, IL; Bobbie (Gary) Dudley of Freeburg, IL; and Sandra Schell of Highland, IL.; grandchildren, Alexandra Rose (Brittany) Anderson, Shawnee (Matt) Blacharczyk, Tiffany Anderson, Dean Anderson, Justin (KarleeRose) Dudley, Kierstyn Dudley, Elijah Schell and Isaiah Schell; great-grandchildren, Kensli, Cheyenne, Laikyn, Hudson, Irena and one great-grandson, due in August.

For 30 years, Russell drove for Wonder Bread with the Teamsters, before his retirement in 1998.

He was a talented musician, playing in country bands throughout the area. He loved music and sharing his passion and love of music with others. Above all else, Russell loved his family and will dearly be missed by all.

A memorial visitation for Russell will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 9:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

A memorial service will be held following the visitation, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Final interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
