Raymond was born September 13, 1944 in St. Louis, MO to Raymond and Cora Rhymer.
He married Carol Beyer and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings.
Raymond is survived by his children, Raymond Rhymer Jr. (Tanya Latta), Carl Simmons, Jimmy Simmons, Steven Sobieralski, Tracy Sobieralski; grandchildren, Toni Lynn and Walker James; niece, Melissa Simmons and nephew, Christopher Smith.
Raymond worked on barges for 10 years and then worked as a forklift operator at Sam’s in O’Fallon, IL for 20 years. He was a social butterfly, making new friends wherever he went. He enjoyed music and dancing. In years past, he would umpire little league games. Raymond’s family will carry on his legacy for years to come; he will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Raymond will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 11:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation. Final interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL at a later date
