Paul Edwin Owens Sr

Mr. Owens was a retired police officer, serving 21 years as a Lieutenant for the O’Fallon Police Department and 11 years as an officer in Springfield, Missouri. He was a member of Elks Lodge #2858 in Lake Stockton, Missouri; a member of Masonic Lodge 576 in O’Fallon, Illinois and a Scottish Rite Member. He was one of the original members of FLO Investigative Unit and later became part of the St. Louis Major Case Squad. He enjoyed camping, fishing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, but his most precious time was spent with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Margeruite, nee Daniels, Owens; and his loving wife, Betty, nee McCallister, Owens.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his sons, Paul E. (Susan) Owens, Jr.; Mark (Debbie) Owens and Jeff (Pam) Owens; his daughters, Becky (Stuart) Akes and Paulette (Paul) Andrews; his grandchildren, Stacey (Paul) Williams, Paul (Tiffany) Owens, Nicole (Matt) Koetting, Brooke (Kevin) Devine, Mark Isaac (Jessica Brown) Owens, Emma Owens, Barry (Rachel) Jones, Phillip Jones, Cathy Russell, Pam (Adam) Inkelaar, Kimberly (Richard) Parker, Brendan Owens, Elysia Andrews, and Elizabeth Andrews; his sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis (Barbara) Ashby and Howard (Judy) Ashby; two sisters, Brenda (Steve) Rice and Pat Pistor; his best friend for more than 40 years, Rollie Brave; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
