She was born February 8, 1960 in East St. Louis, IL to Bennie and Betty (Sparks) Kolwyck.
Melinda is survived by her two loving children, Michael (Beth) Schwartz of St. Peters, MO and Meagan (Nathan Abernathy) Schwartz of Millstadt, IL; her two grandsons, Bentley and Liam; and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia (Ronald) Skidis and Karen (Dale) Thompson and her aunt Barbara Collins. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Cassie.
In years past, Melinda worked at the Columbia Market and most recently at Wal-Mart in Waterloo. She was always a bright and friendly face for so many who would visit the stores. She loved to fish, crochet, go shopping and do word puzzles. Above all else, she loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
