Martha A. Cornell

Martha was born June 12, 1930 in Breese, Ill. to Jacob and Clara, nee Venhaus, Kohrs.

She is survived by her five children, Curtis (Marnie) Cornell, Kent (Kathy) Cornell, Patrick (Ann) Cornell, Mary Page Mueller, and Donald F. (Karen) Cornell III; grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer (Nicholas), Ryan, Jessica (David), Kyle, Derek, Emilee, Curtis, Cameron and Ashlyn; great-grandchildren, Neiha, London, Liam, Easton and Brynlee; sisters, Mildred Johnson and Marlene Robben.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald F. Cornell, Jr.; her parents; and siblings, Wilber Kohrs, Elmer Kohrs, Dolores Lamping, Bernice Winter, Ralph Kohrs, Arthur Kohrs, Jerome Kohrs, and Roselyn Crawford.

Martha was most proud of her life as a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She had a special bond with each child that will always be remembered. Her job at the grade school was most fulfilling due to the many connections she made with the students. She was an avid volunteer over the years and shared her relationship with God amongst the family. Losing her husband of over 63 years, two days prior to her passing showed the strong love she had for him. Martha and Don will be missed dearly but the family is happy they are together in their eternal home.

A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. A time of gathering will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
