Lesley "Les" W. Zanders

Les was born August 17, 1940 in Baldwin, IL to Sandy and Cecelia (Aubuschon) Felix. He married JoNell Irwin on May 28, 1960 in Waterloo, IL. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage. She survives and resides in O’Fallon, IL.

Also surviving are his two daughters, Mitzi Zanders and Renee (Danny) Neuner, both of O’Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Kyle (Miranda) Wentz of Belleville, IL, Torri (Emily) Wentz of St. Louis, MO, Casey (Kami) Montague of Hamel, IL; and great-grandchildren, Bristol, Rowdy, Cora & Corbin; half-sister, Charlotte Flemister and step-sister, Barbara Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Charlie Felox; his sister, Jean Schmierback; and best friend, Frank Anderson.

In the 70s & 80s, Les owned and operated Fairview Standard Oil and C&L Standard Oil. He was a car enthusiast and an avid stockcar race fan. Les and JoNell were longtime members of the Okaw Valley Classic Chevy Club and spent much of their time on car cruises and at car shows; it was a true passion and a love for the both of them. Over the years, the club brought friends who are more like family.

Les was a family man who cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Les leaves behind many friends and family who will miss him dearly; his legacy will never be forgotten.

VISITAITON: A visitation for Les will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

SERVICE: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL
