Harold Dwayne Williams

Harold Williams, 79, passed away, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL., with his family at his side. He was born in Mt. Carmel, IL on January 10, 1945, to Henry and Melba LaVaughna Williams.

During his life, he worked for the railroad as signal maintainer and contractor for over 45 years. After retiring, he went on to live a comfortable life in retirement working on projects around the house.

He loved woodworking, playing billiards, camping at the lake, going to the coffee shop chatting with friends, and spending time with family. He was known most for fixing anything that was broken and building handcrafted woodworks.

Harold was preceded in death by his mother and father Henry and Melba LaVaughna Williams, his brother Dick Williams, and his son Brad Williams.

He is survived by his sons Gregg (Belinda) Williams and Alex (Kirstie) Williams, his brothers Don (Marian) Williams and Ed (Kathy) Williams, his grandchildren Nathan (Aoi) Williams, Marissa Williams, Nicholas Williams, Rynn Williams, and Riah Williams, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He brought much joy to all their lives.

A visitation for Harold will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A memorial service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM with a committal service immediately following.
