Gloria Gonzalez, age 98, of Swansea, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was born June 21, 1924 in Cuba to José and Angelica (Martinez) Llorca. Gloria was the oldest of 13 siblings including, Sixto, Valeriano, Rosa, Gabriel, Poncho, Juliano, Ina, Ramon, Ida, Armondo, Casieno, Alberto. Gloria married Raymond Gonzalez in 1951 and started a family together in East St. Louis. She attended beautician school and started her own salon, Gloria's Beauty Salon, in East St. Louis and then on Frey Lane in Fairview Heights.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Anthony "Tony" (Helen) Gonzalez and Barbara (Larry) Tomaszewski; grandchildren, Terri Ann (Shaun) Bosson, Kerry Gonzalez, Adam (Megan), Brandon (Leslie) Eisenhour; William (Jamie) Gonzalez, Nicholas (Tori) Walker, Stephanie Tomaszewski; great-grandchildren, Oliver Jack Bosson, Brooklynn and Gabriel Eisenhour, Landon, Donovan Eisenhour, Isabella, Emma, Mateo, Niko Gonzalez, Johnny Reynolds.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 12:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 10:00am until time of service at noon. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
