Billy Wayne McGrew

Billy was a longtime member and Deacon Emeritus at Eastview Baptist Church, Belleville, Illinois. His passion was dancing; but he also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a loving father, grandfather, great and great-great grandfather, who will truly be missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda McGrew, nee Bishop; a grandson, Jimmy D. McGrew, Jr.; a granddaughter, Melissa Johnson; two brothers, Lenzie Cox and Carlee McGrew; and a sister, Dana James.

Surviving are his children, Jimmy D. (Lucy) McGrew, Sr., of O’Fallon, Mo., Patricia (Douglas) Johnson, of Crowley, Texas, Lana (James) Lentz, of Waterloo, Ill., Pamela (Alan) Meinen, of Millstadt, Ill., Rev. Ron McGrew of Belleville, Ill., and Michael (Barbara) McGrew, of Godfrey, Ill.; his grandchildren, Michelle, Tammy, Billy, Damian, Robin (Randy), Douglas (Cecilia), Denys (Mark), Melissa, Mark (Leah), Heather (Matt), Patricia (Scott), Brian (Tanya), and Thomas; his 29 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 and from 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Eastview Baptist Church, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the church with Rev. Ron McGrew officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
