Michael Amos Horsfall – (78) the cherished husband of Charlene Horsfall of 58 years of marriage passed away at home on July 18th in Cocoa Beach Florida, after living with leukemia for many years. “Mike” was born and raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts and the son of the late Amos and Lauretta Horsfall.
In addition to his wife Charlene, Mike is survived by his sister Theresa Krenmayer of South Carolina, the late Robert Collet, Donald Collet of New Bedford, MA, Cindy Lindquist of Rochester, New York. Mike was the father of three sons, Steven Horfall, daughter in law, Pam Horsfall, the late Ronnie Horsfall, Craig Horsfall and wife Kim-Marie Horsfall. He was most proud of his grandchildren Garrett, Evan, Benjamin,
Samuel and soon to be great granddaughter!
Michael Horsfall was a graduate of New Bedford High School 1961 and served in the Massachusetts National Guard Military Police. Michael started his career at Acushnet Company and then was employed at Rodney Metals for 30+ years as an operation plant manager. He then helped start and became a consultant at ZAPP USA.
Mike was a handyman who loved to tinker around the house fixing things. He wasn’t shy about taking things apart and fixing them. There was no way he was going to pay money to have someone else fix things if he could do it himself. He had a great sense of humor with a quick wit. He enjoyed spending time with his family, Cocoa Beach, the “slots”, family clamboils by the pool with a Narragansett, fishing, Manhattan’s, working on his tan at the beach, and always insisted on having clean windows. (lol)
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the transfusion center and hospice for the care and compassion that they provided.
Services will be private.
