Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Kenneth E. Affonce and Michele “Mikki” (Oliver) Affonce of Fairhaven, he lived most of his life in Fairhaven.
Kenny was the first child with Autism to be integrated into a standard classroom in Fairhaven public schools. It took his mother two solid years to get him placed into a standard classroom withing the Fairhaven Public School System. Kenny graduated from Fairhaven High School, earning his diploma in 1999. Kenny was an avid music, hockey, football and auto racing fan.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Melody A. Affonce of Fairhaven, a brother, Derek A. Affonce of Uxbridge, a sister in law Mary Benjamin of Uxbridge; a nephew, Brayden Affonce; a niece, Rowan Affonce; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Robert Silva of Dartmouth, Mr. & Mrs. Norman Leblanc of Fairhaven, and Mr. & Mrs. William J. Oliver of Dartmouth; and numerous cousins. He was the uncle of the late Dakota Lynn Sylvia and nephew of the late Robert Silva and Jacqueline Little.
His graveside service will be Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in Naskatucket Cemetery, 266 Huttleston Ave., Fairhaven. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024 5-8 p.m. in Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
