Obituary of Pamela Kaplan Pelto
Pamela Kaplan Pelto, (61), passed away peacefully in bed with her family in her room on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at home in Centreville, Virginia. She was engaged to Austin Charles Boddicker, and formerly married to Rex Eugene Pelto. Pam and Austin only got to share the last 6 years but were looking forward to the rest of their lives together. Pam was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Stanley Kaplan and Elaine Kaplan. She attended and graduated from both The Catholic University of America & The University of Michigan. She was previously employed at The Office of the County Attorney for close to 30 years as the Assistant County Attorney. After retiring from the County Attorneys office, she happily accepted two part time jobs, one with her friend Mark Viani at Bean Kinney & Korman, and the other at the Park Authority with her friend Michelle Meadows. Pam was a member of many organizations and belonged to the Shoreshim Jewish Community Synagogue. She enjoyed running every morning, exercising, dancing, socializing, nature, and painting. Pam was sensitive, sweet, fun loving, and one of the smartest people I have ever met. She enjoyed all classic rock, but if you knew her well enough her favorite was The Boss, AKA Bruce Springsteen. She especially loved her 3 beautiful young men, Austy, Evvy, & Ryee. She will be remembered for her character, amazing personality, and care for others. She would cry during movies when sad things happened, and she was so selfless that after she found out that she may only have a few weeks to live she said “Austin (Fiancé, not son. That one was distinguished at home by calling her son Austy), can you please go out and get some candy for the trick or treaters”, she knew that she didn’t have long left on this planet and she was worried about the kids getting candy on Halloween. This speaks to what an amazing woman she was. She is survived by her Fiancé Austin Boddicker, children; Austin Pelto, Ryan Pelto, and his twin brother Evan Pelto. Her fur baby Bowie (named after none other than David Bowie of course), her two beautiful sisters; Cynthia Kaplan Revesman, and Elisa Kaplan Eigen Klein, and her mother, Elaine Kaplan. She was predeceased by her father Stanley Kaplan. The service will be at Demaine Funeral Home - Fairfax this coming Sunday, November 24th, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The service will also be available via web browser if you cannot make it in person. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Esophogeal Cancer Foundation, or any organization that will help others going through the same struggle that our sweet Pammy fought so hard to beat. May God’s great name be praised throughout all eternity. Glorified and celebrated, lauded and praised, acclaimed and honored, extolled and exalted ever be the name of thy Holy One, far beyond all song and psalm, beyond all hymns of glory which mortals can offer. And let us say: Amen. May there be abundant peace from heaven, with life’s goodness for us and for all thy people Israel. And let us say: Amen. May the One who brings peace to the universe bring peace to us and to all the people Israel. And let us say: Amen.
