Miriam Fisher Stevenson

Miriam Fisher Stevenson, age 79, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on 1 November 2022 from heart failure. She is survived by her husband James O. Stevenson of Fairfax, Virginia, their son James M. Stevenson and his wife Tracy Stevenson, granddaughter Olivia Stevenson of Bennett, Colorado, and brother Michael Fisher of Northumberland, Pennsylvania. Miriam (“Mim”) was born in Danville, Pennsylvania, 24 October 1943 to Charles Edward and Miriam Cleaver Fisher. She graduated from Lake Erie College, Ohio, with a Bachelor’s in biology and became a certified cytologist at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, Pennsylvania and then at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, New York. After raising her son she returned to obtain a Master’s in geography at George Mason University, Virginia, specializing in remote sensing. She subsequently performed marketing at the satellite company, SPOT Image, Reston, Virginia. Later she supported marketing with her husband at the 911 cellular location company, KSI, Fairfax, Virginia. A Visitation will be at the Demaine Funeral Home, Fairfax City, Virginia, from 2-4 pm, Saturday, 5 November 2022. Internment at the Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, will be at 11:30 am, Monday, 7 November 2022.
