Jean Kolb

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Kolb announces his passing on Thursday July 29, 2021 at the age of 76, in his hometown of Fairfax, VA. His battle with prostate cancer and other medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with much humor. He loved to laugh and his humor stayed strong until the end. He is survived by his wife Marilee Kolb and his daughter Lea Dawson and four grandchildren Jessy, Autumn, Georgia and Charlie. Jean was a proud Vietnam Veteran and always fervently supported fellow Marines and war veterans. Jean was a keen negotiator for the AFL-CIO and always looked for opportunities to further his education which was his proudest achievement, when he received his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania. A Viewing followed by a Funeral Service in memory of Jean will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, VA. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:30 pm.
