Elisha James (EJ) LeBlanc, beloved husband, father, and dedicated professional, passed away on October 17, 2024, at the age of 45. Born on December 6, 1978, in Houston, Texas, EJ was a caring, creative, and compassionate man in the lives of all who knew him.
EJ is survived by his beloved wife, Mandy Lynn LeBlanc, with whom he shared a deep bond since their union on November 19, 2005. Their journey dating together began in 2003, culminating in 21 years filled with love, laughter, learning, growth, difficulties, forgiveness, grace, and cherished memories. EJ was a giving father to two sons and an adopted daughter, and he poured his heart into protecting and raising his family, striving to do his best with what he could.
EJ also leaves behind his loving brother, Joshua LeBlanc, and his parents, Kevin LeBlanc and Beverly Dodson LeBlanc. They shared many good years of EJ’s warmth and kindness and will forever be remembered by his family.
EJ's professional journey began with his service in the United States Navy, where he served as a Sonar Technician for submarines from July 1997 to July 2002 on the USS Kentucky. His dedication and expertise earned him recognition as the Junior Sea Sailor of the Year in 1999. Following his military service, EJ pursued higher education and spent five fulfilling years as an English Language Arts educator at Faith Academy. There, he crafted meaningful and engaging assignments designed to foster his students' reading, thinking, and writing abilities, leaving a lasting impact on many young lives.
Professionally, EJ’s journey continued as he became a respected instructional systems designer and human performance technology consultant. His impressive career included roles with various commercial and government organizations, with his most recent position as a technical content and instructional engineer lead at Booz Allen Hamilton. He also proudly managed his own ventures, including EJ LeBlanc LLC and CALDO Academy. EJ was passionate about education, learning, and innovation; he dreamed of creating his own e-learning platform and developed the CALDO model, which was designed to help communication and learning professionals enhance their practices in DevOps-oriented environments.
EJ held a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education. His love for reading, learning, and teaching was evident in every aspect of his life, particularly in his dedication to developing interactive learning content that inspired others.
A memorial service celebrating EJ's life will be held on November 2, 2024 at Demaine Fairfax Funeral Home. The services will be live streamed the day of services. EJ LeBlanc's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his compassion, creativity, and care to those he loved.
