Obituary of Carolee Anne Taylor
Carolee Anne Prosise Taylor, Age 80, of Fairfax, VA and Williamsburg, VA passed away on July 9, 2024. Born on December 8, 1943, in Washington DC, Carolee was the second child of Martin and Isabelle Prosise and younger sister of Nancy Gayle Prosise Pumphrey. She, her sister and her parents lived in Vienna, VA, outside of Tysons Corner. Carolee attended James Madison High School and studied at Mary Washington College, now Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, VA. After graduation, she married Keith Taylor and between them raised a family of three boys. Later in life she moved and resided in her beloved community of Kingsmill on the James in Williamsburg, VA, while continuing in her career of selling Real Estate. In the years just prior to her passing, Carolee suffered from Alzheimer’s/Dementia and resided in a wonderful community near her twin sons in Northern VA. Carolee was a staunch supporter of her boys with a large zest for life. As the boys got older, she gave up the boring old woodgrain station wagon and treated herself to a little red sports car traveling to countless baseball games or tennis matches.  Later in life she learned to love sports even more and was a big fan of the Washington Nationals and enjoyed watching their games on TV or even better, attending them in person. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed spending time at the beach with decades worth of vacations at her favorite and beautiful Hilton Head Island, SC. She was preceded in death by her middle son, David Martin (2022) of Manassas, VA. She is survived by her oldest son Bradley Allen and his wife (Jennifer Taylor) of El Paso, TX and her youngest son Bryan Matthew of Arlington, VA as well as David’s fiancé, Angela Will, her grandchildren, Peyton Allen, Braxton Gibbs, Grace Caroline and Parker Mason, her sister Nancy Gayle Pumphrey and husband (Wayne Pumphrey) and her nephew Wayne Gavin Pumphrey as well many of her dear cousins and friends. An outdoor graveside service will be held in her memory on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00AM, Fairfax City Cemetery, next door to Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030.
