Obituary of Beth Miller Buckley
Beth Miller Buckley, 56, passed away on April 17, 2020. Born in San Diego, CA she was the daughter of Alon and Norma. A naturally gifted musician, Beth climbed onto a piano bench at age 3 and began playing music by ear. She eventually learned seven instruments. At Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, MD, she performed in several annual Rock and Roll Revivals and performed in the marching band. She attended University of Georgia, like both of her parents, after winning a full scholarship, for french horn. After college, Beth lived in Boston, where she sang on the Spirit of Boston cruise ship. She later lived in Orlando, Cocoa Beach, Colorado Springs, and Alabama, before returning to the DC area. She was a lifelong traveler and loved nature. She was always quick to laughter and saw beauty, in all things. Beth is survived by her sons, Cody and Lucas, who were the love and pride of her life, sisters Susan, Alison, Jodi, and Tracy, eleven nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews. To honor her life, we have set up a Memorial Grove in Beth's name through an organization called Trees for a Change. The trees will be planted in a National Forest that was destroyed by wildfire. Beth's trees will help restore the beauty of the forest and will be a living tribute to her for years to come. Our family will get a framed certificate with the number of trees and a card with all messages after all the contributions have come in. We invite friends, family and members of the community to contribute trees to this special grove by visiting this link: http://www.treesforachange.com/products/custom-grove-of-trees Choose Beth's name from the drop down box. Post COVID-19, the family will plan a celebration of her life.
