Shirley Joyleen Johnson

Shirley J. Johnson, age ¬79 of Xenia, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born the daughter of Clyde & Jewell (Hammons) Hutchinson in Elliott County, Kentucky on February 2, 1936. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl G. Johnson; 3 brothers LD Hutchinson, Jerry R. Hutchinson, and Nickey Hutchinson. She is survived by her son Darin Johnson of Xenia; sisters Ardene (Horace) Cooper of Xenia, Lois (Billy) Black of Kentucky, Loredia (JD) Stevens of Kentucky, and Patsy (Carl) Mosley of Kentucky; brothers Robert (Eula Faye) Hutchinson of Kentucky, and John Hutchinson of Beavercreek; brother in law Roger G. Johnson of Middletown; 2 sister in laws Mary Jo Hutchinson of Kentucky, and Karen Hutchinson of Kentucky; Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Shirley was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all who love her. In 1993 Shirley retired from the Xenia City Schools after teaching for 38 years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Bull Fork Rd. Morehead, Kentucky.
