In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Wilson; brother, JP Wilson and sister, Mary Neal Davis.
He is survived by his son, Jack (Melissa); his four grandchildren, Christopher (Naomi), Nicholas (Kortney), Katie (Cody), James (Rachael); his beloved grand-dog Baxter; three great –grandchildren, Clara, Henry and Gunner; and his sister, Alice Honchell. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
James loved and cherished his family, eating breakfast at the Waffle House, Kentucky basketball, talking about cars, railroads, making people laugh, and his hometown of Ravenna, Kentucky. He was a long time member of Fairborn First Baptist Church.

A service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12 NOON at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home (119 East Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio 45324), with Pastor Chris Wilson officiating. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM until the beginning of the service at Noon. Burial at Byron Cemetery.
