September 16, 1972 – October 22, 2022
With much love and deep sorrow, we mourn the loss of Scott Brian Tetreault. He was just 50 years old and a beloved son, brother, dad, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandfather and friend.
Born in Greeley Colorado on September 16, 1972, Scott was the son of Brian and Celedonia (Sally) Tetreault. He is survived by his mother Sally, daughter Kayla Bradford Tetreault, sons Jack Tetreault and Luke Tetreault and grandson, Brian Duffy. He is also survived by sister Mary Cooper, brother in law Lane Cooper, maternal grandmother Victoria del Mar as well as many devoted nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded to heaven by his father Brian Tetreault, Louis & Marie Tetreault (paternal grandparents), Emidgio del Mar (maternal grandfather) and uncle, Paul Tetreault.
Before settling in the Gold River, CA area, where his three children were born, Scott grew up in Woodland, CA and later completed junior high and high school years in Arroyo Grande, CA.
As a child, Scott was very active and athletic. He raced BMX, played in Pop Warner football, and enjoyed many outdoor activities.
Scott shined in high school football and track. As an athlete, Scott was a born leader. Scott always had a positive attitude in the locker room or on the field. His aggressive and ferocious tenacity as an athlete led his team to do greater things. In football, Scott never came off the field. He was a two-way starter for both offense and defense all four years of high school. Scott was First Team All Northern League as a junior and senior. His senior year he was also All CIF. Scott was also a stand out track athlete. He was All Northern League Champion as a pole vaulter, high jumper and triple jumper as a junior and senior. Senior year, he was the CIF Masters Champion for his district of all of California. Scott was one of the most versatile athletes in Arroyo Grande School’s history.
After moving back to the Northern California area, Scott worked as a heavy equipment operator for a few years then ultimately found his talent as an arborist - hence his nickname “Scott Tree”. His hobbies included disc golf, golf, wakeboarding, tree climbing/swinging, playing the guitar and of course, playing the lottery.
Scott’s potential was immeasurable. He had a generous heart to those less fortunate – he would give the shirt off of his back if someone else needed it more. His challenges and untimely passing deprived him of precious years with his family and his true course in life. It is our hope that any information regarding the events of his passing is reported to the authorities so that our family can have peace and justice.
He will be forever loved and forever missed.
The celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 4 at 11:00 am at the
Orangevale Community Center Auditorium
6826 Hazel Avenue
Orangevale, CA 95662
