Robert, known to his friends and family as Bob, was born June 27, 1930 in Wilsey, Kansas. He was the eldest of 3 boys.
Robert joined the Army in 1948. He was discharged from the Army having served in Korea and re-enlisted in the Air Force serving in Vietnam among other places before retiring in 1973.
He met the love of his life on a blind date and was stationed in Germany shortly after. Through their continued correspondence, he proposed marriage. She accepted and joined him in Germany. They married on October 11, 1958 (they just celebrated their 66th anniversary) and started their family with their first born son. After his retirement, they settled in North Highlands, CA where they raised their children. Bob enjoyed being a dad and a grandpa/great grandpa and was known and loved by many who considered him to be family. Bob was very social and loved meeting people and engaging in conversation. He would always introduce himself as Bob. He enjoyed staying active and attended all of his children's events that he could. He joined bowling leagues, umpired for Youth Little League, Men's Fastpitch Softball, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
He retired from civilian life in 1995 and continued to serve his community by being a volunteer for Senior Gleaners for several years.
He always had time for those in need of help and an ear when someone needed to talk and great advice when asked. He is dearly loved and missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Peak. Children Brian Peak (Bonnie), Sheri Peak, Ronda Peak-Snow (Larry). Grandchild: Jordan Peak (Madalynne). Great grandchild Sawyer Peak. Siblings: Cameron Peak and Jim Peak. Honorary family: Dina, Maleeya, Lyric and Tim Tilman.
