His parents, John W. and Carole L. Morton, precede him in death. He leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Suzan Morton; daughters Julie M. Sebelin and Michele D. (Steve) Krueger; step-daughter Melissa (David) Allman, and their children Jonah and Joseph; his brother James (Catherine) Morton, and theirs sons, Darren J. (Tina) Morton, and their daughters Charlotte and Evangelinge; Christopher T. (Kristin) Morton; Patrick S. (Susan) Morton, and their daughter Isbelle; and Jonathan M. (Ashley) Morton. Former husband and friend to Mary Kay Morton.
He received his Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering from Northwestern University Technological Institute (1959). He started his career through projects with Army Corps of Engineers, and international projects in Tanzania, East Africa and Taiwan. The last 40 years having been with Morton & Pitalo, Inc., where he was a founding partner.
He had Professional Engineer (PE) designations in California (1964), Arizona, Illinois, Nevada, and Texas. He had affiliations with Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), Life Member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and North State Building Industry Association (NSBIA).
Carpe diem – Yes, he seized the day – actually he seized LIFE! He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. One of his many passions was photography and he has an endless treasure trove of photographs of his family, friends and travels. He knew how to capture the moment, every moment of every day!
Above all we will remember the man who was a loving and devoted husband; a caring and dedicated father, step-father and grandfather; a steadfast and supportive brother and uncle. He would say he was the lucky one to have all of us in his life but he blessed our lives with his presence
