Padroso, Orense, Spain on January 3, 1926. He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio
and Maria Leon, and brothers Joey and Luis. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife
Carol of 45 years, his son Matthew(Elizabeth) and daughter Michelle. Pop Pop to five
grandchildren: Kyler, Emmitt, Grayson, Aberlyn and Zachary. Lovingly remembered by his
brothers Frank(Sonja) and Tony, and numerous nieces and nephews. He immigrated from Spain
at the age of three, and grew up in New York and New Jersey before moving to California. He
served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943-1946 in the Asiatic Pacific on the LCS62 during
the capture and occupation of Okinawa. He then worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad
followed by a career at Cal Western Life in Sacramento, as an accountant and became the VP
of Internal Audit until retirement in 1983.Was a member of Union Tehama Lodge #3 F & A.M.,
Sacramento Scottish Rite, and Ben Ali Shrine. He enjoyed traveling, attending church, ballroom
dancing, and was always reading even in his final days.
