10/11/1964 – 12/17/2022
Cassandra Motz-Mitchell passed away on December 17, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Cassandra graduated from Folsom High School in 1982 and was a long-time resident of Orangevale, CA. She is fondly remembered as a caring, compassionate wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, and all agree that it truly gave her joy to help others. She truly cared more about helping others than herself. She and her husband Bob raised five wonderful children and fostered several children over the years.
Independent, resourceful, and able to face life’s adversities with a smile, she was an inspiration to us all.
Cassandra was a skilled and creative chef, she loved gardening and all manner of crafts, including knitting and spinning yarn (the old fashioned way). She was happy to roll up her sleeves and engage in anything involving home improvement; from laying down a new tile floor to revitalizing a garden. She had a love for animal rescue and she simply had a gift for making things better. Her life and passing reminds us how precious life, family, and friends are.
Cassandra is survived by her loving husband Bob Mitchell; children Alyssa Allison, Roger Mitchell, Phillip Vang-Mitchell, Suvenie [Lulu] Vang-Mitchell, and Ally Malailua; mother Kathryn Motz; sisters Debora Motz and Darcy Motz; brother Ronald Motz, Jr.; nieces Kristi Teglia, Jessie Teglia, and Isa Motz; nephews Nicholas Teglia, Kyle Johnson, and Zachary Johnson; cousins Brenda Booth, Carla White, and Jeffrey Maxwell; aunt Kathleen Maxwell; and uncles Bill Donovan, Bill Maxwell, and Ralph Allen. She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Motz, Sr.
A celebration of her life and church service will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 10:30 am at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 9079 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, CA 95662.
Cassandra’s family requests that any donations be made to The American Heart Association. In honor of “American Heart Month,” your gift (through February 28) will be matched by Barrett-Jackson Charities, dollar-for-dollar, to help save lives from heart disease and stroke.
