Angelo "Richard" Carparelli, of Evergreen Park, Illinois, passed away May 30, 2018, at the age of 100 of natural causes. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine Carparelli, esteemed parent of Felicia Carparelli, and loving grandfather to Peter Carparelli and Christina Schultz. Richard was born in Harrison, New York in 1917. He attended Harrison High School and played varsity baseball, football, basketball and golf.
Dick was a caddie at Rye Country Club and caddied for many famous film and entertainment stars like Al Jolson and Mack Sennett. In 1941 he joined the United States Army Air Corp and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant as he flew aircraft all over the world from Ireland to South Africa.
Dick became a member of the Professional Golf Association in 1947, his membership was current until his death.
He married Christine in 1948 in Mamaroneck, New York; they started a new life in the Chicago area.
Dick has been affiliated with the Beverly Country Club, Chicago, since 1946. He was Assistant Pro, became Head Pro and then enjoyed many years of being Pro Emeritus.
He came from a large family of 10 children; during the depression he worked as a caddie and brought home his earnings to his parents.
Dick had a beautiful singing voice and could recite poetry, his favorites being Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost and Shakespeare.
He had a wonderful life and he will be missed by all.
