Hello Kandras family,

I found a signature from my high school yearbook from her and thought you'd like to see it. 

We met her freshman year in a science class we had together and connected over starting a new school. She and I loved to laugh together. We joked around about everything and like to banter back and forth. I looked forward to seeing her in that class as I was always greeted with a smile. And even when we didn't share a class, we would catch each other in the hallways to share a quick laugh. She was so full of joy and had a competitive  and fiery spirit. I admired that about her. She was so unique and beautiful. I will and do miss her.

The school didn't get yearbooks in time for signatures, but I created a makeshift one and I am so grateful that I did. Having this message from her brings me comfort. I think about Kandra fondly.

I remember when you would come over to my house and we'd play along as children. One day my sister brought out a book about chickens and we all picked our favorite and acted like that chicken. You were always a joy to be around and I'm glad I got to see you in middle school too. 

You had the best smile, everyone remembers that. What they don’t remember are the things you did...I’ll never forget eating cup of noodle with you every day at lunch, but most of all, I’ll neverforget the way you had my back when things went downhill for me. You were there to support me and told me to keep my head high and “don’t let these...(people) get to you, you’re stronger than them.” I love you so much and I miss you every single day

I still remember when we first met in middle school.I'll always remember all the times you and me wouldn't be quiet in class because we couldnt stop laughing. I remember when you first got our braces you hated them because you couldnt fully close your mouth. I still remember your last day at school when you moved. I miss you so much. Im sorry for never actually keeping in touch like I promised. Ill always remember you Kandra.

I grew up with you and to see how far you've come is so awe-inspiring! I would have loved to have reconnected with you and I'd like to apologize for appearing rather distant the last time we met. It's just that you never think that the last time is the last time. Your passing has deeply affected me, I hope to grow as you have, into a better person. You will be greatly missed!

I never really met you Kandra, but everytime I saw you at school. You always had that smile on your face with your friends. A lot of people will remember that smile forever.

I am Pasat's English Teacher.  I spent just 1 hour of talking to Kandra as she tried to help bring her mom up to speed on Middle School and my advice for her little brother, and was so impressed with her drive, her smile and her thirst for knowledge and excellence.  So energetic, positive, and willing to be a great and responsible big sister to her wonderful brother.  I am so sorry for your loss.  We will do everything we can to take care of Pasats for you.
