Jim retired from the US Navy after 20 years of devoted service to his country. The next day he went to work for Providence Regional Medical Center as a facility supervisor, retiring after 36 years, in 2011.
Jim was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and FRA 170. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Catherine; children, Michelle Arneson (Jerry) of Everett, David Trader (Tammy) of Marysville, WA; granddaughter, Christina; son, Steven Trader (Kelley) of Marysville; grandchildren, Marcia and Tim; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Veronica; daughter, Shannon Fox (Scott) of Everett; grandchildren, Natalie and Kendall; daughter, Corrie Cockle (Brian) of Garden Grove, CA; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Braden; brothers, Frank, Dan, Jerry, Joey, and sister, Lucy.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 11 a.m. at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, 425-252-2191. Inurnment will follow at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett.
