Fern married the love of her life Ferdinand (Fred) Weyers on June 2, 1956 in their hometown of St. Niklaas, Belgium. Once married, she traveled with Fred to Everett, Washington, where they spent the remainder of their years together.
Fred passed away on February 19, 2018. They enjoyed 61 years together, raising four children.
Fern’s life was dedicated to her family and keeping up the home that Fred built for them in 1960.
She enjoyed camping, cruises, walking with friends, and attending her kids’, grandkids’, and even great grandkids’ many sporting events. She treasured visiting her granddaughter Maria's family in Idaho, as well as trips to Lincoln City, Oregon with her daughters. One of her favorite restaurants was Anthony’s at the Everett Marina. The staff there adored her and took great care of her when she showed up to dine. She was an avid card player, enjoying playing solitaire, rummy, and trump with her family. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she would light up whenever she got a chance to get kisses from a dog.
Fern will forever be remembered for her loving demeanor, warm hugs, cheerful smile, and amazing chocolate chip cookies.
She leaves behind four children Linda (John) Campbell, Susan (Brian) Karabach, Dan (Cindy) Weyers, Mike (Margo) Weyers, nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren who all loved her dearly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Belgium.
