

Betty Jane (Rodriquez) Pribble age 90 passed away peacefully on Aug 2nd at Mountain View Rehabilitation Center in Marysville, Wa. She was born Sept 27th 1931 in Santa Barbara, Calif to Gloria De los Santos who later married Manuel Gutierrez who loved and raised her as his own.
Her early years were spent in Santa Barbara, Calif and the surrounding area where she attended primary school and high school. She enjoyed archery and was on the women’s competition rifle team where she won numerous trophies for marksmanship. She graduated Santa Barbara High School in 1949 and went on to attend Knapp College for Nursing, graduating in 1952. After graduation she worked at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
She met Harold (Pete) Wayne Pribble at a dance and after his service in Okinawa they married on Nov 8th 1953. Together they started a family and in 1965 the family moved to Everett, Wa. She had an in-home day care as her children were growing up and later returned to nursing, working at Virginia Manor Nursing home, Bethany and Nutrisystem. After 30 years of marriage Pete passed on Sept 24th 1982. In 1987 she met and shared 22 loving years with Mayo A. Aanderud until his passing on Sept 1st 2009.
Throughout her life she loved to be creative. When she was a young girl she played the Hawaiian lap steel guitar and the ukulele. As an adult she excelled in ceramics, resin work of the 1960’s, embroidery, knitting, crochet and sewing making many gifts for family and friends and her children’s clothes when they were little.
She leaves behind her sister Tillie Torres and numerous nieces and nephews, daughter Monica (Stuart) Sedgwick, son Pete (Barb) Pribble, son Ernest (Elaine) Pribble and daughter Georgiana Pribble. Grandchildren Kenny (Tianna) Pribble, Sarah Montgomery, Vincent Peralez, Rachelle Fisher, Cortney Pribble (Jake Imbery), Joseph Vechnak and great granddaughters Mila, Olivia, Skylar and Eliana.
Funeral services will be held on September 23rd at 11:00am at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery 4504 Broadway Everett, Wa with graveside held afterward. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to the time of services.
Memorial donations in Betty’s honor can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
