Virginia E. Smith

Virginia Ellen Smith, 86, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. She was born on November 26, 1934 in Princeton, Indiana, to the late Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Wade. She was a 1955 graduate of Welborn Baptist Hospital School of Nursiing. Virginia was a registered nurse at Welborn for over 40+ years, retiring in 1999. She was the head nurse of the cardiac unit for 13 years. Virginia was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and was a member of Eastern Star. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bill G. Smith and her brother, Clarence E. Wade, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Michael Wade, Jeffery William, and Stephen Clarence Smith; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 nieces, Paula and Ali. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hospice and Pine Haven. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 30, 2020 at Alexander West Chapel.
