Obituary of Virgil W. Outlaw
Virgil W. Outlaw passed away on February 19, 2023, in Florence, South Carolina. He was born in Evansville, Indiana to the late Paul and Louise (Howard) Outlaw. Virgil along with his brothers and sisters grew up on the family farm on the west side of Evansville. He attended the former Union Township School and graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1974. While living in Evansville he was a faithful member of Dove Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Virgil worked for CSX Railroad for over 40 years, retiring from CSX as a dispatcher. He was an avid golfer and a Jacksonville Jaguars fan. Virgil loved fishing, old-school music, eating good food, and spending time with his family. His daughter Jessica was the joy of his life and she will always be Daddy’s girl. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary and Phillip Outlaw, sister-in-law DeAnna, niece Andrea Outlaw-Sanders, and Warren Wade his brother-in-law. Virgil is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gloria Ann Wade Outlaw; daughter, Jessica Grace Louise Outlaw, of Florence, SC, brothers Paul (Patricia) Outlaw, Jr. of Evansville and Henry (Connie) Outlaw of Henderson, KY, sisters Vera (Eddie) Johnson and Terri (Maurice) Dorsey, and sister-in-law Anna Outlaw, of Evansville and aunt, June Johnson of Indianapolis, IN. Two sisters in law Veronica (Alton) Davis of Marion, South Carolina, Esther (Henry) Foxworth, two brothers-in-law, Lonnie (Afreeka) Wade of Dillon, South Carolina, James C. Wade, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, & Wisconsin. Funeral services were held in Florence, South Carolina on Friday, February 24, 2023. Virgil will be interred in Lyles Cemetery in Evansville, IN on Nurrenbern Road on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Noon. The family will receive visitors at Dove Chapel Missionary Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until the burial at Noon. Condolences may be offered at www.AlexanderWestChapel.com.
