He was a hard worker and wore many hats. He worked at Unclaimed Freight for many years. Johnny retired as a Correction Officer for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department. He took a lot of pride in treating the inmates with respect and dignity.
Tinkering on old cars, tractors and equipment was something Johnny enjoyed for many years. He liked to tinker with these in the pole barn he built. He enjoyed gardening and sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, Miami Dolphins and Indiana Hoosiers.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, James Albert Heath, Robert Calvin Heath Sr., Clarence "David" Heath, and Betty Rose Page; his former wife and mother of his children, Sandra Heath; and his former wife JoAnna Wentzel.
Johnny is survived by his sons, Victor “John” Heath (Toni), Andrew Joseph Heath (Jackie); grandchildren, Corey John Heath, Jenna Nicole Heath, Alyssa Renee Heath, Kylee Alexus Heath, James Andrew Heath, and Michael John "Papi" Heath; step-mother, Marilyn Jeanette Dunn; sister, Margaret Ann Stogdill Storey (Sam); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Rev. Daron Schauss followed by burial at Alexander Memorial Park in the Garden of St. Luke.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, November 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
