Vernie Walker Finch, Jr.

Vernie Walker Finch, Jr, age 91, of Evansville, IN passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He was born in Sebree, KY on May 12, 1930 to the late Vernie W. Finch Sr. ad Charlie Bell (Shelton) Finch. Vernie was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness on Burdette Avenue for a number of years. He was a Master Cosmetologist and owned his own salon business for 50 plus years in Evansville. Vernie loved cooking and entertaining his family. He was a true family man! Vernie enjoyed gardening and taking care of his plants. Vernie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan J. (Harris) Finch; daughter, Stefanie Flemming and her husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Stefan Parker, Shane Parker, LaKenneth Blanton, Kenyll Flemming; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Parker; and siblings, Oneda, Roy, Henry, Ruth; nephews, Lloyd Sprouls and Carlos Ross. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at noon. Vernie's final resting place will be at Springdale Cemetery, Sebree, KY.
