Sharon Sue (Johnson) File, 84, of Evansville, IN left to be with the angels that preceded her in death on Friday, November 23, 2018 at her home peacefully with her daughters by her side. Sharon was born on November 17, 1934 in Evansville, IN to the late Earl L. and Ethel M. (Grigsby) Johnson.
Sharon had a passion for butterflies and had a collection from around the world, which were given to her many friends and customers. She worked for 33 years at the 11th Frame Lounge, located inside of Franklin Lanes. Sharon also worked at the Time Out Lounge and Petroleum Club. Through her work, she met many people who became dear friends - that’s how she became known as Mom to so many.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gail Burnett (Randy); brothers, Robert Johnson and Clarence Johnson (Jeanette) and sister, Janiece Pierce.
Sharon is survived by daughters, Linda Knight and Kathy Blair (Terry); sons, Michael File and Roger File (Tammy); 26 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.
Sharon’s family would like to thank Deborah Kinney from DHHC, Jinnyi Clements from MD2U and Heritage Hospice, especially Angie and Autumn. Her family would also like to thank her neighbors who were so kind over the last few months, especially Mike and DeAnn, Anita, and Brenda.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., officiated by Chaplain Luke Smith. Burial will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
