Shannon Sue Veach

Shannon Sue (“Sue”) Veach, 79, of Jewett, TX, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco, TX. She was born January 13, 1936, in Evansville, to the late William E. and Edna E. (Welborn) Stanley and spent most of her life in Evansville.

She medically retired as a manager for Goodwill Industries. She enjoyed working at home caring for her family, time with her grandchildren, cooking, canning and crochet. She enjoyed camping and was a proud member of the National Campers and Hikers Association and the Wabash Whirlwinds Camping Club. She was an avid reader and researched her family genealogy at the library. She was of the protestant faith.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, younger sister, and her husband of 48 years, Vernon Veach.

She is survived by her sister, Beverly Jean Hussle of Largo, FL; son, Rick (Lois) Veach of Jewett, TX; daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Davis of Mt. Carmel, IL; granddaughters, Amanda Marie (Mike) Squire and their children Rhiannon and Coren, Rikki Lynn Veach, and Erica Cole; grandsons, Shaun Donaldson and Jared Davis, and great-grandson, Ryker Cole.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 27, 2015, at Alexander North Chapel, with entombment in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
