In loving memory of Sandy Blair, 65, of Wadesville, who passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 31, 1944, in Evansville.
Sandy’s greatest achievements were in the lives of her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. In her younger years, she enjoyed raising her children and volunteering at their school. She always looked forward to spending time with her four grandchildren and traveling. She leaves her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends with the knowledge that they were truly loved and cherished.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Eichenberger; mother, Margaret Parks; and brother, Gary Parks.
Her loss is grieved and her life is celebrated by her husband of 47 years, Charles Blair; her daughter, Charlene Wiethop and her husband, Clint, of St. Philip, IN; son, Charles Blair II and his fiancé, Capitola Hankins of Evansville; grandsons, Nolan Wiethop, Griffin Wiethop, and Aiden Blair; granddaughter, Izabella Blair; sister, Geraldine Schweikhart and her husband, Ronnie, of Blairsville, IN; brother, Dwayne Parks and his life partner, Jay Nagle, of Chicago, IL; stepbrother, James F. Parks of Houston, TX; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and the large circle of loving family and friends who cared for her and shared her life as her health declined.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 8, 2010, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Rick Sellers with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Deaconess Hospice Center for their kind and compassionate care.
