She was born Ruth Katherine Stone, on March 11, 1923 in New Albany, Indiana to Charles L. and Bertha L. (Kunzman) Stone. She had a long business career, which included DuPont Co. and over 50 years with United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds, retiring as Assistant Administrator.
Ruth was a longtime member of First Church of God in New Albany and Bethel Church of Evansville. She was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years and was a 50 year Charter Member of Altrusa International of Evansville along with Daughters of the Nile. Her other affiliations include Past President of Toastmasters International, Leadership Evansville, Dale Carnegie. Ruth also led pit tours during the inaugural years of Thunder on the Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Delmar Hadley; son, Randall Theodore; sister, Joyce Rose Kindred (Indianapolis); brothers, Floyd (Jeffersonville), Orville L. (Houston), and Kenneth (Indianapolis).
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Joy Loeffler; grandsons, Kevin and Luke Lannan; and great-grandchildren, all of Evansville.
Friends may visit on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel in Evansville. A visitation and service will also be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville and Seabrook (Dieckmann) Funeral Homes, 1846 East Oak, in New Albany with entombment at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park, 2276 Charlestown Road, in New Albany. A reception will follow at First Church of God - Harvest Room, 2248 Charlestown Road, New Albany.
